RQ Exchange Rate is a financial programme for daily downloading of exchange rates from ECB portal (European Central Bank). Programme stores given data into SQLite database. You can compare them with previous rates or show it in chart, so you have quick view about rise or fall of currency.

RQ Exchange Rate doesn't need to install, just unzip into optional folder on harddisk. For daily update of exchange rates you need internet access. Programme doesn't contain any malware, troyan horse, etc.

RQ Exchange Rate has following functions:

• downloading exchange rates for last day, last 90 days or all exchange rates from 1999,
• comparing daily exchange rate with previous (difference and index),
• comprendious chart for last month / quarter / halfyear / year (if exchange rates are stored for this period). You can save your chart to the clipboard,
• excellent list of currencies in code-book with possibility to add, edit or delete choosen currency,
• export of choosen currency for optional period (eg. for next handling in MS Excel),
• printing exchange rate for optional period (through Notepad),
• possibility to delete daily exchange rate,
• multilangual support (English, Czech, Slovak).

You can use this programme for free for non-commercial use only (eg. in household). In case of commercial use you must buy it. The price is really symbolic (only 5 eur) !!! In case of your interest, please, use e-mail contact to the author of programme.

Upper panel of screen has three parts::

• a) calendar
  
• b) currencies of particular countries (they appear only in case exchange rates exist for choosen date)
  
• c) list of exchange rates (they appear in case you select any currency / country from near table). If you select one or more exchange rates in the list, you can see this date(s) on chart, where this date is colored with special own color.
  

Lower panel of screen is big chart, where you can switch the period of data (last month, quarter, halfyear or year).


If you want to update your exchange rates, you need to download XML file from ECB portal. You can select which type of XML file to download (last day, last 90-day or all from 1999).
You can preview downloaded file (with extension XML) in external programme (it depends on association with XML file). After downloading you can save (store) all data into database (file ECB.DB3).


Database contains all currencies with all exchange rates. When you select any currency in left panel, all exchange rates are shown in right panel. You can copy selected or all rates to the clipboard (for later handling in other programme)
You are allowed to add, edit or delete choosen country, code of currency or currency. But if you rename code of currency, you corrupt its contact with table of exchange rates, so use this function carefuly! If you want, translate English names of countries and currencies into your language.
